While we head into the uncertainty of what this fall may bring, there’s still so much to enjoy right here Kingston. KFL&A Public Health has provided guidelines to help us feel safe with whatever we choose to do this season. From enjoying the outdoors to staying home, we’ve put together a list of experiences to help you make the most of this unusual fall!
Hiking
What a better way to enjoy fall’s beautiful colours than with a hike in one of Kingston’s many amazing trails such as Lemoine’s Point, Little Cataraqui Creek, and K&P Trail. Whether you want a short adventure or are feeling energetic and want to do 22kms, you are guaranteed to see the most beautiful sights with the flaming turning leaves. All of this while practicing physical distancing of course! Check out Visit Kingston to see what other trails are in and around town. Time to put on your boots, pack a sweater, and check out some trails!

Eat & Drink
Whether you are looking to dine-in or order for take-out, Kingston’s food scene is sure to wow you!
Until October 10th, The LOVE Kingston Marketplace offers diverse activities downtown. Head for fresh produce at the Farmers’ Market, or enjoy live music,food and alcohol service on Friday and Saturday evenings.
While we’re on the topic of live music, Musiikki Café has live music every night and a magical patio that will give you all the feels. If you’re feeling a more up-to-beat vibe, Stone City Ales has DJs playing on weekends.
Want to wine and dine while enjoying some magical restaurant ambiance? Check out some popular spots downtown such as Tango, Woodenheads, or the new Black Dog Tavern. Be sure to book your reservations in advance because these places fill up quick!
You can also stay home and leave the cooking to someone else. Mango offers amazing Thai & Pan-Asian Cuisine for both pick-up and delivery. Feeling a little more like comfort food? You’ve gotta try Carmelinda’s Family Restaurant in Kingston’s west end. Whatever you decide on, you will not regret it!

Art & History
Kingston Penitentiary Tours are back Wednesday to Saturday until November 1st, learn about this Historic Site from the knowledgeable tour guides and retired guards, while maintaining safety protocols. Here is the link to book your tours and learn more.
Take a tour at “Kingston’s first waterworks in operation from 1851 to 1951,” The Pumphouse to learn some interesting stories and see different exhibitions you just can’t miss.

Spooky
COVID-19 might’ve canceled Halloween, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some fun scares! Fort Fright is scheduled to open October 2nd, check-out their website to buy your tickets in advance. The Haunted Walks are also open for Bubble Tours, where you and a group of up to 8 people can be spooked by some of Kingston’s very own ghost stories.
